Actor, theatre director, curator and collector,

Gustavo Giacosa was born in Argentina in 1969.After studying literature at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral in Santa Fe, he began his theatre career with Rafael Bruza, then continued his training with Pippo Delbono, with whom he collaborated until 2010 on the company’s theatre and film productions.From 2005 onwards, he has developed artistic research centred on the relationship between art and otherness, through theatre, visual arts, exhibition curation and writing. This research led him to work with artists and forms of creation situated at the margins of the art system, and to establish the Puentes collection, bringing Art Brut and contemporary art into dialogue.

In 2012, he founded the SIC12 artistic platform in Aix-en-Provence, together with pianist and composer Fausto Ferraiuolo, bringing together their creative, production and research activities.
He is also co-founder of the SIC12 artstudio in Rome, dedicated to exhibitions, research and artistic residencies.His work as a theatre director explores the relationship between document and fiction, memory and invention, combining theatre, music, images and visual arts. Alongside his theatre work, he curates exhibitions devoted to Art Brut and dialogues between self-taught artists and contemporary art. His projects have been presented at Halle Saint-Pierre in Paris, Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne, Centro de Arte Oliva in Portugal, and numerous international institutions.
